I found a lost house key on the ground recently. If it is yours, please let me know so I can return it to you.
It is inscribed: {shield,helm,gloves}.

Re: Semi-admin privileges
I vote nay. I'd prefer to leave decisions about penalties and reimbursements to Crimson. Although if you have so much spare time, it would be nice if you coded some ignore features available to all players. Perhaps an ability to ignore players greater than or less than a certain level, or to specify...

Re: More item-kinds or egos!
I think that the improvement I would like most is to make Boots of Speed have unlimited speed bonuses. Then I could walk up to people and say, "I just sold the boots of Feanor. :P"
Also, if weapons of extra attacks are so worthless, they should be able to go up to +3. Then they would be really nice.

Re: Cursed objects
How about some fake artifacts - you greedily wear the first power dragon scale mail [50] you find, then oops! It feels deathly cold! Bloodturner claims another victim.... he.he

Re: Sick Fun
My favorite is when we go on an item cloning and player killing spree until we have over a billion gold and the Bladeturner-lined town is littered with corpses.

Re: Theme levels
One thing you'd have to keep in mind about a dark elf level is that it should only be allowed to generate in a specific depth range. It would be a quick death for a newcomer on 50 ft, and a high-level player on 6350 ft could destroy any dark elf monster with a snap of his fingers and but a mean glan...

Re: More item-kinds or egos!
It would be great to have more varied equipment strategies among the players. I suggest that the 'worthless' dragon scale mails (blue, white, black, shining, and red) have random ego abilities such as permanent light, regeneration, or ESP - either naturally or as somewhat common ego items. As for r...

Amulet of Speed
I think the Amulet of Speed should no longer have a maximum bonus of +3, because I think that there is nobody that wears them. Even if a low level character found one, he'd probably have more use for his See Invisible or Wisdom amulets. Otherwise, he'd probably sell it so he could get a more useful ...

I plan on doing that. I just wanted to find out how long I'd have left to live.

Re: Various questions
1) The level resets as soon as you leave. The level will only remain static if someone else is on the level. Saving on a level will cause it to become static for some time. 2) A potion of Restore Strength will get it back to normal; a potion of Strength will first restore it to normal and then incre...

Auto-retire
When someone kills Morgoth, are they going to auto-retire? How long does it take? One player said it was 100 turns; that seems like not even enough time to recall and sell the items he drops. I think it should last at least until Morgoth comes back to life. That would give the person time to play wi...

Re: item examining
The normal scrolls of Identify are regularly stocked in shop 5 and cost less than 100 gold. A new feature in Angband is the more powerful versions of some scrolls, potions, and staffs, indicated by the asterisk before and after the name. The *Identify* scroll is usually stocked in the Black Market a...

Why don't we just disable Maegdae instead of disabling the ghost diving and clone wands we all had so much fun with? :P Just kidding. At least it now takes mad skillz to powerdive.

The same happened to me. I came back and found Cerberus almost dead, and I hit my macros on him...unfortunately, I found myself dead and with my Scroll Lock light on. Oops.

I like the non-maximized mage, since they can actually get their max attacks with the mage weapons, Quarterstaffs.
