Heh, when I saw that "very long life" bit, I thought a new instance was inbound.
I suppose that will wait until there's code in place to solve the housing problem without taking the servers offline and manually editing the houses?

Trial and error shows me that that change has to be made client-side, not server-side.

Is there a tileset available for PWMangband which I could use to make that change, or would I have to go source diving, try to figure out what to change, and then hope I can successfully recompile? Additionally, is there a client-side change that could be made to address that issue as well? ...

I've noticed this bug as well. It's one of the reasons I stopped carrying multiple detect rods(the other being that they don't stack when charging, resulting in their being dropped and potentially lost with a full inventory), which is how my latest death to time hounds occurred. I've got one. Always detect traps. Yep, the cooldown on the rod is longer then you're going to spend in any given section of the map. Bring another one if you have to. Hell, bring three. Traps are bad.

Just made a post about using the existing vaults as the basis for building houses. Not sure where it went, doesn't seem to have registered yet. Will expand on this idea if it never shows up.
