I would love to buy that big house:
-450 2,2 23x8 184 7360000
I currently have houses at -150 1,4 7x8 and -50 3,4 7x6 - both quite small in comparison.
I more than have enough cash for it :D - and yes, I've had both houses since I was in the 30's :P

Re: Has the game become easier? [Poll]
I have mixed feelings. Over all the game is easier to get into, but more tedious the longer you play. Player Shops are nice and certainly help at some stages.. Finally makes gold useful for mid-range characters. There was always some level of trading and this makes it so that people don't have to co...

Re: How long have you been playing MAngband? [Poll]
I started playing in 98. Was really active between 99 and 2003 then was pretty inactive for a few years. Just started playing again recently.
Played PernMangband (pre ToMEnet) a lot. Also really liked Tanix' variant DLMangband but it was unfortunately short-lived.

Re: Feature request #1 - Dropping gold
There is one problem with this! You cannot drop more than 99,999,999 gold into one stack. Until this has been fixed you might not want to drop all gold.

Re: Server problems.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA that's rich. SMART info is useless. I've got a recent report hanging around from a test done over at Google on a sample of around 20,000 drives over a 5 year span where SMART info was not associated with any failure ever. One of the problems here is that early on the industry used t...

Re: Tuning #1 - Stability Boots
I don't think this is truely an issue. On this instance I found boots of speed +6 at 1k, on the floor, not even in a vault. This has always been a possibility. I remember a _very_ long time ago someone found boots of speed +10 at 50'. Couple years back Dwarfy found Power DSM at 800' on a hill gi...

Re: A new client.
I'd like to see a client that has support for proxy pass through. Or the ability to choose which port you're connecting on. The port thing would of course require something similar server side but it would be particularly nice if you wanted to run a couple of side-by-side servers. Say one for tes...

Re: Restricted PK vote.
I like option C with the caveat that a smaller level character should always be able to attack a larger level character. Usually there is no reason to pk someone that small but in the event of blatant cheeze or abuse (spammers suck, can we have an ignore option already?) I think people should be a...

Re: Artifact tax
I still think the best answer to artifacts is randarts. It's been successful before and is something that's an option in Vanilla and has been for years.
Sure there would be bugs to work out but why not?

Re: Focus on the New User
Well, I'd be happy to whip up some starting level, commented , class based macros that could be packaged up in the client download. I've already got a set that I use personally. I'd have to comment them a bit better and provide a text document describing the keymaps. I do understand. The reason ...

Re: Focus on the New User
As for the Macros - Do people not look at the options and settings link on Mangband.org anymore? I wrote that thing years ago and it's really simple to edit macros by means of directly manipulating the file.

Re: Suggestion for a new price system for weapons.
That's a decent start Berendol, though I'd probably value a BoC EA weapon like that at around a mil to start..
One of the things I think about too is that once you get something past +15 which is the highest bonus you can enchant by hand the value needs to have exponential growth .
