MAngband

Unfortunately, the servers are empty because there are few people who play on them anymore.  I think Mangband needs another generation of players or something, since myself and all the others who used to play have sort of moved on and several even beat the game before leaving.  It is still a fun gam...

Strange.  The ToME/oook server got hacked recently.  Don't know if this is related to what happened to your server.  If anything is does show that there are hostile people out there....

There should be a way to take character dumps so then we can all post our characters on angband.oook.cz!

Kinged Tomenet? nice!  One reason I prolly wont come back to tomenet too soon is that my primary computer right now is a laptop.  While the roguelike keyset is alright for turn based games, I am not sure how good it would be for real-time, especially since without using the numpad the keys available...

;D Yeah, a while ago.  The reason I started playing TomeNet was because I had beaten Mangband.

There is no examine key in Mangband.  You just have to remember an items special powers or put them in an inscription.

Just so everyone knows, those spoilers are not necessarily correct for Mangband.  The oook spoilers are for Angband 3.0.5, but Mangband is based on an eariler version of Angband -- 2.7.9 possibly?. Some of the spoilers would be correct though  :)

Wow, this server is back up again!  All the character savefiles are still intact too!  Thx to whoever did this.  It has been quite some time since it went down, but then again for all I know maybe it has been up and I just havent noticed (because I haven't been watching - I have been playing <gasp> ...

Most likely they fell into the deep, dark hole of "I have more important real-life things to do."              

I think the monsters should polymorph more frequently when cloned.  It hardly ever happens and I have only had a "hard" monster created once (it was an archlich).  Or make it so the multiple spawns might polymorph too.
That would be wicked...you are cloning and all the sudden you get like 5 druj.

That problem that herbert was having about being surrounded by monsters and not being able to do anything...thats nasty.  It happened to me twice luckily I didnt die either time, but it took a loooong time for my teleport to pull off.  It is very wierd, I myself have never had that problem before. b...
