Re: Can We Have a Level One Weekend or Something?
To be honest there is just not a lot of treasure to be found in the wild. I'd like to see a mixed-class party survive to 1000ft; even better, how about two or three parties hitting 1000ft?! Last time there was a huge turnout, there was some trouble sticking together and surviving. Maybe this time we...

Re: Can We Have a Level One Weekend or Something?
I think more than 1 day's notice would be best to get a large turnout. Perhaps have the expedition next weekend?

Re: Housing Shortage
I think players should be encouraged to own fewer houses, not fewer squares, so that they will consolidate most of their 20 small houses into maybe 2-3 big houses. Of course, someone with 20 houses must have good reason to not already be doing this, not least of which is the fact that he has saved w...

Re: Housing Shortage
What I find odd is that not many people are buying castles on this server. The huge houses used to be highly sought after... maybe there is no longer any incentive to buy them?

Re: Housing Shortage
Well, that didn't take long, did it! Even with 13 server wipes to get a decent amount of houses... Actually, a quick run around town shows that only the areas directly North, South, and West of town are mostly full. That leaves nine maps that are nearly untouched! Anyone willing to run through some ...

Re: A YASD... and a bug
I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago: I opened up a corridor in a vault filled with traps and Ungoliant, and she summoned a pack of Phase spiders. The spiders of course commanded me to return, but since there was no space in the corridor, it dropped me in the middle of a large room in th...

Re: Strategy against bad moves
Sting was found while diving in a big party, and at the time, everyone had better weapons so they decided to sell it. After a few deaths, that player lost his superior weapon so he had to downgrade to Anduril...

Re: Shop selling
I have noticed that happen to me a few times. For example, I might have a stack of Healing potions that sells and leaves behind maybe 6k in gold.
Do you know what items specifically have sold when that happens?

Re: Improvements/suggestions for lvl1 partying...
I don't think that party setup would work -- it would have to move at a snail's pace, pits and vaults would be difficult to tackle, and many of the @'s will wind up doing nothing, especially the back line warriors... I think that small groups are best, preferably with 4 @'s per group. I have had goo...

Re: New-char weekend... Anyone interested?
My computer was having problems for most of the day so I wasn't around for the whole party... but I did get a screenshot of our awesome supply base at 400 ft!

http://mangband.org/Main/HighScoreChart?v=1.1.0?dump=Steel%20Dragon-418770917 Here's one where the CCW takes effect at the same time as the final blow -- so the dump shows she died with positive HP! Also, the last messages are pretty amusing: The Cat Lord bites you. You die. You are unaffected! You ...

Re: Strategy against bad moves
Amulets of Teleportation really should be replaced once you start diving past 1000 ft. At that point, you should be making enough gold to invest in some Staffs or Scrolls of Teleportation. On the other hand, new players can't afford those staffs or scrolls so they will most likely be diving with no ...

Re: Chardumps: a priceless feature
Hmm, seems the answer is 1650 ft. I just logged in and discovered some rations in town with a call for help; nobody was online and the level was static. I managed to slay the dragon and brought up the loot pile of the people who died in that corner, but the level reset on my next trip down and sadly...

Better friendly targeting for healers?
While I was playing a Priest recently I noticed how ineffective it can be to include friendly targeting in a heal other macro when in a party of more than two members. As an example, in our party, we often had a Warrior tanking the monsters while the Mage provided some ranged support, and it was my ...
