Did you already delete the server savefile? I think to have an idea of the problem we should do a little experimenting with that server savefile. Since the file is a text file (it's totally readable...), we could do the following: - save the server savefile somewhere and remove it from the /save dir...

Did Crimson implement the vanilla ego rarities in the 1.0.0 version? In old Mang, the chances of generating the different types of ego items were hard coded (ie res acid/fire/cold/elec 4/19, res 2/19, elvenkind 1/19)... but in new Angband, those are listed in the e_info.txt file as a "rarity" like m...

Sorry not to have replied earlier, but I faced exactly the same problem with my test server while coding... the server stayed up for 30 seconds after which any character would get "timeout mark 0" errors. I didn't found any solution except exactly what you did - simply erase the server savefile and ...

IIRC my first char in MangBand ever back 10 years ago found a gold DSM at 400ft... I don't see your point in this post. There is always a chance to find good items early...

A few things here... 1) Spells do hurt other players... so people could get accidentally killed by spellcasters without it being PKing 2) You cannot throw items at clvl1 in PWMang... that eliminates a part of the cheezing 3) Afking in store is ok when I play... usually my char has the Teleport Away ...

No, monks are just martial artists with the number of bpr and dam dice increasing with clvl.

I just tried and didn't manage to run two servers on my computer... it seems that you need 2 IPs to launch 2 servers.  :(  :(  :(
And yes my variant contains an ironman mode... you just need to set IRONMAN = true in mangband.cfg (cool eh?)

It took me four months...

...but today I finally finished coding my variant!
So the next steps will be:
- find a permanent host to run a PWMangband server
- find some space on the web to store the client so that people will be able to play
Help will be required here, as I have no way to do that at the moment...

Interesting... would be a bit of work to port to Mang though.
On a side note, I've added the tool slot to the equipment list tonight. And a more explicit message when someone tries to connect with the basic client.
