Re: New Item: Ring of Venom

Even though you can have resist poison as a random resist, you probably want the random resists to be things you can't get elsewhere, like nether/dark/chaos/disenchant.

New Item: Ring of Venom

slaying ring combined with a ring of resist poison. This would alleviate some of the "Need to have Mirkwood boots or trickery amulet" poison resist problems. It also matches the style of Ring of Resist fire -> Ring of flames , except with a slight twist. It would probably be in between mirkwood boot...

Macros

I died. It wasnt because I didnt know what to do. I just didnt have my macros. Because I was on a different computer and Im too lazy to recreate 12ish macros. I was tempted by free unguarded gear on 2200 and died against gorlim on recall. I only macroed banishment. :/ This would not have happened if...

Quest rewards

Quest rewards do not have to be a lot of money or some pretty good items. They can be items that only Gandalf can make. For example, a ring of int (+0), or a amulet of speed (+6), Broken dagger of fury (-2,-4) (+3) This way it would kind of be a status thing to have these items. This would make it p...

unclear wording in Character screen

Re: Melee Weapon of Nogrod

Well, that depends on tons of things. Weapons can conditionally be good simply because they give stats, resistances or speed. If you're looking at total damage output, it depends on how many blows your character has, and how much tohit and damage your equipment gives. For warriors and rogues, Blades...

Re: New Item: Runesword

Oh sure that makes sense. Then we have another endgame blunt weapon too. Make it easier for priests to avoid pointy penalty
So its a Wizardstaff? 2d7 at 13 pounds?

New Item: Runesword

Runesword 3d5 8lbs It would be a final tier weapon type for mages. Similar Depth/Rarities as Blade of chaos, Scythe of Slicing, Mace of Disruption. All the final tier weapons are fairly heavy, and it would be nice to not use Long Swords or something as a mage. It feels kind of silly for a endgame ma...

Re: More disturbance options for bullet time

Probably seeing ANY enemy should disturb also unless you restart it with them in view. That was my least favorite part of bullettime in PWMangband, running into them and dying

Self selling cheeze

Liam and sorry Schroeder, but Schroeder/Orome have been scumming 7 with a lower level character to buy potions to sell to their high level character at great profit.

Paying other people to scum the BM for you is fine, but paying yourself isnt.

Re: New Class: Monk

I know!!!!! The issue is the realtime aspect. Its the same kind of fix as making time pass slower deeper in the dungeon. We need to make some compromises because its a realtime game. Angband has long distances between enemies and this design choice was made because its a turnbased system. At realtim...

Re: New Class: Monk

Of course I detect, but it seems that hounds gank me more often when time is passing 2x than normal. Moving without bullettime is painfully slow. I feel that the 2x running speed is a good thing even if it makes Amulet of Infravision (-4) uncursed a good thing. That kind of thing is only cheezy earl...

Re: New Class: Monk

I like time to be a constant thing.
Since bullettime was added, running means time passes 2x faster, so you're more likely to run into a pack of hounds and get owned.
