say, the guy you're partying with suddenly walks over a trap and becomes paralyzed. There's not much of a way to tell is there. I think it'd be good if the player's background color changed according to their status effect, that way it's easier for party members to assist each other. In reality, you'd be able to notice, in the game, it looks like they went afk... In the heat of battle it is also difficult to see what's going on with all those messages going by, so why not have a feature like this, making what's going on more noticeable. Even something as simple as red-paralyzed yellow-confused orange-blind green-poisoned would be great.

I agree. There should also be some kind of party alarm system. A player in a party doesn't always have time to type "Help! I'm being surrounded by orcs at (0,0)!!!" while struggling to stay alive...

just the other day me and bunbunb and robo cow and osme peeobls died becawuse the mage wouldnt let me throw my gun at him, but ye i tried typing shit hellp but it was beeping causse i have linu snf ids so gay for some reson

Sorry for resurecting this thread, but the post above is the most hilarious thing I've seen this week :P

I am wondering if all these names have spelling errors or not, and what gun are you talking about? The last part of the post is completely uncomprehensible. (did it mean "linux is gay for some reason"?)

PS: I have NOTHING against spelling mistakes, but really this one is hard to read at all :)

Regarding the subject - Yes it would be nice to be able to see it, maybe flashes, maybe a colored message. Health warning starts at 6 right? so we could still use 7, 8 and 9 for status changes as well... question is what has precendence if the character is paralyzed and low health...

7 = Paralyzed
8 = Confused
9 = Blind

maybe switch every half second: 7..2...7...2...7...3 etc :)
if multiple states apply probably only the worst should be shown...
Regarding an alarm system, I think anyone is for himself :D
