[RESOLVED] seeing behind doors
so me and emumage were taking on a vault, and he had door creation. Whenever he made a door, or i closed one, i could still see the enemies behind the door, untill I moved.
As a side note, taking a vault with humerhorns when you have door creation, and no resist confusion is funny as hell!

Re: seeing behind doors
Also on a side not, is it intentional that players can see doors opening and closing on the map not in LOS?
(Or may this just be an effect of Magic Mapping?)

Re: seeing behind doors
Could you see the monsters as they moved, like ESP? Or were you only seeing where they were when the doors were created?

Re: seeing behind doors
I saw the monsters, while they were moving. If a new monster showed up in the space, I could see it.

Re: seeing behind doors
Sounds like the old multiplayer ESP bug... I thought that one was fixed.
Re: seeing behind doors
It isn't :) neither is swapping spaces with a friendly character if you're entering a lit room being swapped. Sight doesn't update. If these 2 people get swapped, the player below won't be mappin all of the rectangular room. He would see what I have described below.

The eastern part of the room is unmapped for the lower @ because they switched places. This means the lower @ still sees what happens as if he was standing in the upper @'s place. Same happens if another player shuts a door where you have vision. It doesn't get blocked like it should.

Re: [RESOLVED] seeing behind doors
After about 20 years of being in mang codebase, this bug has been resolved (#1303).
Thanks to everyone contributing to the fix and explaining it.

Congrats on the fixing :)
By the way, Vanilla changed character perception around the 4.0 release, so when something happens outside of the character's awareness (monster opening doors, …) the display is NOT updated ("cave" structure + "known cave" structure). I've ported that feature to PWMAngband and it's working fine.

Re: [RESOLVED] seeing behind doors
Thanks for that long lasting support! It did cause issues for me when I started playing, but that's because I copied the game from a friend's computer who got the game a while ago and never updated it. I did, and it's now fixed.
