Incoherent behavior when enchanting/disenchanting items

Post by PowerWyrm » Mon 01.09.2008, 10:11

See http://dev.rephial.org/trac/ticket/631
Since I don't know if this will be processed before next year (vanilla dev team seems to fix things slowly atm), I decided to post this here too. So bug or not bug?

I would tend to consider this as a bug. The to-hit/to-dam bonuses on gloves of slaying (power, thievery...) or the to-ac bonus on defender weapons (holy avengers...) are not magical bonuses, but physical bonuses. The gloves are "designed" to provide extra to-hit/to-dam (by having spikes on them for example), like the protection from the base AC. The weapons are "designed" to provide extra to-ac (like an extra chance of blocking/parrying attacks that would otherwise score a hit). Those are similar to the to-hit penalty on body armor (heavy armor hinders movement, making hitting enemies harder).
