For some reason "Rods of Detection" do not sort in the inventory as they should (charging rod below).

Don't know it the (charging) tag matters. Though mine are sorted properly...

Let me be more specific:

I have two Rods of Detection in my inventory. Both inscribed with {@z6} and stack as they should if charged.
I hit z6.
The charging rod is below the recharged in the inventory.
I hit z6 again.
Both rods are charging now and do not stack.
I wait until the first rod is recharged. I hit z6 and get the message "Rod is still charging."

-> Charging rod is on top of the recharged rod in the inventory.

This happens only with "Rods of Detection" and is clearly not working as intended.

I've noticed this bug as well. It's one of the reasons I stopped carrying multiple detect rods(the other being that they don't stack when charging, resulting in their being dropped and potentially lost with a full inventory), which is how my latest death to time hounds occurred.

I've just picked up the latest Vanilla, and I've noticed that they stack wands, rods, and staves across all levels of charges/charging in one inventory slot. Let's see about adding that in the next release?

I've also noticed that they limit item stacks to 40 rather then 99, and that recharge scrolls can once again break wands and staves, and these I don't like so much - how about we take the nice features and leave the bad ones, rather then directly keeping up with them as closely as possible? Maybe we could even get global ESP back...

Fixed, as configurable option.

Stack limit is in fact configurable in constant.txt, you could even set it to 1. ;)
