Morgoth was almost dead... but then my luck ran out: two manastorms in a row. And during an epic fight, it's easy to miss that only turn you have to quaff a heal. I hope the time bubble feature will eventually fix this problem...

I hate how mangband turns morgoth fighting into basically a gamble... one person gets double casted, the next doesn't... almost no regard for skill in the fight itself.

Morgoth was at "grunts with pain" which basically means he was almost dead (probably 1 star left).
And yes, real time means whatever your skills are the fight ends up being only a question of luck... watching constantly the @ symbol isn't even enough, since I pressed *heal* macro as soon as I saw the @ turn into a 3 but was promptly told I couldn't quaff that potion anymore...

Wtf are you talking about? The only thing you have to macro is *heal* in this case...
