MAngband

My character just died at clvl12, where it had 13 max mana, and got pushed back to clvl10. I had only 2 mana there. I tried leveling up to 11, and it increased to 3... I'm sure it used to be around 12 at that point.
Where the hell'd my mana go? How do I get it back?

This sucks bigtime because I can't even cast some spells I know, as they need more mana than I have in total now. o_o

Mana doesn't disappear magically ;)

If you died, you may have lost max mana in two ways:
1) Your character had an item that increased your main stat (INT for spells, WIS for prayers) and you lost it when you died
2) When reequipping, you chose to wear a heavy armor part (chain mail or such) that you didn't have before... at low level, it could easily wipe 10 mana points

Some monsters also shuffle your stats (nexus hounds eg.) so maybe a high WIS/INT was shuffled with another Stat.

Aha. I took off that spare armor I kept in case I died... got all my mana back now. :D Thanks!
