MAngband

Hi everyone!

I've recently started hosting MAngband but can't seem to be able to edit the MOTD file (news.txt).

I have edited easily enough (the only copy I could find on my machine was in the installation folder) but the changes are not reflected when connecting. I have restarted the server and even recompiled/installed it to no avail.

How do you change the news.txt file and have it shown on connect?

If you are running Vista (and maybe Windows 7), the OS creates a hidden folder for your own personal changes to files within the Program Files directory. There is a mirror of the news.txt file there and that will be what you need to edit. Check out C:\Users\username\AppData\VirtualStore\.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm running the server on a linux box.
