You see The Mithril Chain Mail 'Belegennon' (-1) [28,+20] (+4) {@A1}.
You have The Mithril Chain Mail 'Belegennon' (-1) [28,+20] (+4) {@A1} (a).
You see a Scroll of Curse Weapon.
You see a Ring of Sustain Charisma.
You see a Scroll of Enchant Weapon To-Dam.
You see an Amulet of the Magi [+6] (+3) {for sale}.
You have an Amulet of the Magi [+6] (+3) {for sale} (a).
You see a Pair of Soft Leather Boots of Slow Descent [2,+6].
It breathes nexus.
The Young white dragon breathes frost.
You die.
Another goofy death during a rescue...
The rescuer should always ensure that there aren't any vortices near, and especially nexus vortices :)
If the rescued char gets teleported away before having retrieved all stuff, it usually ends with a red line in the chat window...

You sense the presence of creatures!
You see a Rod of Illumination.
You see a Potion of Restore Dexterity.
You see a Scroll of Door/Stair Location.
You see a Book of Magic Spells [Incantations and Illusions].
You cannot run in that direction.
You cannot run in that direction.
You cannot run in that direction.
Azriel, Angel of Death breathes nether.
You feel your life draining away!
You die.
Seeing a black A should have made you run at once... but maybe you ignored what a black A was?

The Death drake misses you.
You do not have enough mana.
You hit the Great Wyrm of Chaos.
You miss the Great Wyrm of Chaos.
You hit the Great Wyrm of Chaos.
You miss the Great Wyrm of Chaos.
You hit the Great Wyrm of Chaos.
The Great Hell Wyrm casts a fearful illusion.
You refuse to be frightened.
Ancalagon the Black breathes lightning.
You die.
1) Why all the "You do not have enough mana" messages in your recent deaths? Especially when carrying all those restore mana potions and staff of magi... it's quite easy to regen mana
2) I've seen a couple deaths now when your chars fought tons of monsters in the open (Ds, Us...), and I suppose it's due to ignoring what kind of monsters summon; if in doubt... check help/forum to see if a monster summons and if it does, dig an antisummon hole/corridor to dispatch it

You hit Carcharoth, the Jaws of Thirst.
You hit Carcharoth, the Jaws of Thirst.
It was a great hit!
You hit Carcharoth, the Jaws of Thirst.
You miss Carcharoth, the Jaws of Thirst.
You miss Carcharoth, the Jaws of Thirst.
Carcharoth, the Jaws of Thirst breathes fire.
You die.
Seem that this char ghostdied too :(
Again, missing double fire resist?
[Character Equipment]
h) a Kolla of the Magi [3,+25] (+2) (+2)
Gaaah... my mage would kill for such an item, and you used it as paladin lol.

The Master mystic magically summons animals.
The Mature multi-hued dragon turns to fight!
The Master mystic disappears!
The Light hound disappears!
The Mature multi-hued dragon disappears!
The Plasma hound breathes plasma.
The Plasma hound breathes plasma.
The Plasma hound breathes plasma.
The Plasma hound breathes plasma.
The Plasma hound breathes plasma.
The Plasma hound breathes plasma.
You die.
Mystic type monsters should be avoided at all cost. The xp they give is not worth the risks: Z summons, unresistable KO attacks...

You have 20 Potions of Cure Critical Wounds {@q3}.
The Nether hound claws you.
The Nether hound misses you.
The Nether hound bites you.
The Nether hound bites you.
The Nether hound breathes nether.
The Nether hound breathes nether.
You feel much better.
You have 19 Potions of Cure Critical Wounds {@q3}.
The Nether hound breathes nether.
The Nether hound breathes nether.
You die.
Quaffing CCW is a waste of a turn, unless your character is stunned, bleeding, poisoned, blind or confused. If you don't have anything else to help you, your character is dead anyway. If you have something to help, use it instead (in this case, some *des* stuff).

b) a Sling of Numenor (x3) (+6,+11)
c) a Ring of Constitution (+6)
d) a Ring of Speed (+16)

l) a Pair of Metal Shod Boots of Speed [6,+4] (+10)
Level 50 mage, probably protected by resistance spell, gets breathed on (frost) by a great wyrm...
As I see from equipment list, res base is missing.

The Great Swamp Wyrm breathes gas.
You die.
You are poisoned!
What else to say? If you miss resist poison as a spellcaster, you have to cast resistance and recast it each time it wears off. if you miss resist poison as a non spellcaster, you simply can't dive below 2k... unless you're prepared to die like this.

Fighting a Great swamp wyrm without resist poison or even a drolem or an Ancient multihued dragon. Is suicide.

looong history of orc and mage attacks
Yeah yeah, obvious failure of using speed pots (run away), recalling, having no backup escapes anymore instead of logging out to hope as last resort escape..

Gabriel, the Messenger hits you.
You are blind!
You cannot see!
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
You cannot see!
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
You miss Gabriel, the Messenger.
Gabriel, the Messenger mumbles.
You are hit by something!
You die.
Fighting Gabriel without resist blindness is pure suicide. He will permablind you every turn... and it's cumulative too.

Of course not. I didn't have great gear. That's why I never tried Morgoth, and then I turned into a rescue/merchant character.

Sounds like my current priest... too weak to face deep uniques. However I do have sound resistance with that priest ;)
