It seems some sort of DoS (Denial of Service) attack took out all the mangband servers. I'm not sure if this was an accident or someone on purpose crashed them. Either way, mine is back up. (wckg.net) but a few others have not recovered yet.

Was it a DoS or did the metaserver just reset, and nothing reposted its address since then?
I can't imagine why anyone would act on such a dumb idea... starting a DoS attack on MAngband servers of all things... stupid "leet" wannabe script kiddies!!!

heh, put down the weapons. This was a networking issue on the LAN from which the meta runs. it's long since been fixed.

The only reason it looked like a DOS was because I saw the daemon doing some very strange networking things. But then again, I can't say what it was doing when the meta went down... either way, glad it's back up! it nearly crashed my box too because it was spooling like mad and nearly filled the disk!
