I was wondering what could be the best speed ring found in MAngband. For me, I don't think I've seen one higher than +16, but of course I'm not the most active player these days...

i *think* I found a +17 one once, but I either died with it as schroeder, or sold it as domiano cus I didn't want it to be lost.
I have had +16s before though.
And i **have seen** someone with a +17 before

Thats a really unfortunate death. I thought hounds were removed from stairs/recall

I'm quite sure the record is +18 from the 0.7.3 instance.

If you look closely at the log, you can see that the hounds were 'behind doors' (due to hearing a door burst open) and thus 'far enough away' to be considered
'safe'

I remember Steel having one that was pretty high, I think it was a +18.
