For more experienced players, this is probaly not a problem at all.
But someone less experienced might wanna run if they meet a monster that's "too strong".
However, you'll have to click for every step, due to "disturb".
Having "disturb" off at all times isn't too good either, and by the time you manage to disable it, you're dead.
Would it, however, be possible to make a macro that allows you to run without being affected by "disturb" ?

Say you had some function to Shift+F1 or something, then you select a direction and run without being disturbed...

It would practically be cheating. Since when you run you move faster than the monsters. You can't do that in Angband and you shouldn't be able to in MAngband either. Town is different, since we have both more townspeople and they're much harder than in vanilla. If the monster is asleep, you can run. If it's awake it's either because it's designed to be awake or you're not putting enough emphasis on stealth.

I see what you mean (thought it took me some thinking)
And if it'd be considered cheating I won't bother trying ;)

If you can not *see* the monster, you can run.  Pots of blindness are great for this, if you happen to have one.  I've also been known to un-equip any light/etc, and run that way once you're a bit out of range.

Though that way you're in risk of running into another, maybe bigger pack of monsters :P
