Does anyone actually know anything about this server?  Who the admin is?....Why its down...If it will ever be back up....

Well, I went to the IP address displayed on the login screen (212.19.84.141) and found a screen referencing a web hosting company based in England (http://www.unidentified.co.uk).  I then used the domain name locator to search for the URL given at the server login screen, http://www.morgoth.co.uk, and found more specific data concerning it.  It stated that "This registation is DETAGGED" then gave a URL to go to for more information on the DETAGGED status (http://www.nominet.org.uk/ref/detagged.html).  Apparantly the admin needs to renew the hosting service before the server will start up again (this explains why it went down on Sept. 1st--end of billing period); fortunately, the domain name locator says that the renewal request is being processed.  We'll just have to wait and see...

Wow, this server is back up again!  All the character savefiles are still intact too!  Thx to whoever did this.  It has been quite some time since it went down, but then again for all I know maybe it has been up and I just havent noticed (because I haven't been watching - I have been playing <gasp> TomeNet).  Wowzers, I have a midlvl ranger here with some nice stuff.  Only 1.5 pages of found arts too.

Hi All,

My server is now back up and running again with a clean build and fresh install of 0.7.2a

I will also be launching a server with Berendol MAngband variant, once a few teething troubles have been ironed out.

Awesome, welcome back! And it's great that you will be hosting a Berendol version - everyone really seemed to have enjoyed it before it got doomed.
