Merry Xmas and a PWMAngband update... again

Post by PowerWyrm » Fri 25.12.2009, 13:02

Another extra gift for you this christmas... PWMAngband 1.1.3 beta version is on its way!
I didn't have the time to finish the remapping of monster tiles in the David Gervais tileset, which I wanted to do before releasing a beta version of PWMAngband 1.1.3. This should be done today (or maybe tomorrow if I don't find the time today). As you can see from this post, this release gonna feature... graphics!!! So if you want to try multiplayer Angband with graphical tiles, stay tuned!

I don't think I will need extra tiles... the tilesets include enough tiles for all monsters and objects. All is needed is to remap the missing prf entries with some existing tiles.
Today I remapped a large portion of the David Gervais tileset... I was not satisfied with the original mapping (heh, the guy who mapped the tiles choose a tile that looked like a djinn for Sauron!), so I reworked the whole graf.dvg.prf file! The new beta should be out tomorrow...

Unfortunately, xdir.fr which I use to store the PWMAngband files for download is down at the moment, so I cannot upload the 1.1.3 beta files... Stupid saturday (it was already the case last week)... I'll try to upload the files again today, but I fear I'll have to wait for monday to release the new version :(
I'll update this thread again with the usual list of changes (and this one will be HUGE) when the files are ready for download.

Still no luck. When I try http://powerwyrm.fr.tc/PWMangband it works, but trying to connect to hosting3.xdir.fr with FTP gives me a message "Unable to connect". Yesterday, I was able to connect to hosting3.xdir.fr, but got rejected with "Incorrect password", although the provided password was correct (and trying to browse http://powerwyrm.fr.tc/PWMangband didn't work at that time). So I assume xdir has problems currently (too many connections? I know it's limited to 50 simultaneous users, so maybe I'll simply have to wait and it will eventually work).

Your usename is Powerwyrm and I will send you a message containing your password, I tested it and it works just fine. Should be able to upload no problem. I will even host a pwmangband.ath.cx temporary web server so you can upload your projects there until yours is fixed if you like.

PW, I am going to make it so you can directly upload the files to the small web server I have running on my pc at the moment using your ftp client.
All you have to do is name the server folder "server" and the client folder "client" and then zip it up and upload it to ftp, the links are already there.

Site is: http://pwmangband.ath.cx

Still doesn't work...
pwmangband.ath.cx doesn't seem to be a valid FTP server

Concerning xdir, I'll probably have to get rid of that to store my PWMAng files. It seems to be down for good...

No Powerwyrm it works just fine, I've just lost electricity all day today and until 6pm tomorrow. Pretty bad wind storm knocked out countless powerlines, So nah, it works just fine, just sadly it doesn't work fine without power =).
