Ring of polymorphing...

Post by Ace » Wed 29.08.2012, 21:49

It seems that a ring of polymorphing is a permanent thing. If you are polymorphed into some crappy character, it might be nice to be able to go into a temple to return to your original self?

Also if you polymorph into a "happy singing drunk" maybe after a while you should transform into some other random t type as you are no longer drunk ;)

I don't see why you would use a crappy Ring of Polymorphing... except for goofing around. In that case, you still have the possibility of restoring your character by asking another player to hostile you and use a wand or rod of polymorph on you (you will turn into a fruit bat, and then back to @ form). Or try to empty every fountain you see (same effect, but it's much more unlikely to occur from a fountain -- about 1/200 chance).

Note that killing your character also polymorphs you back to @ form ;)

Are these irngs like a "2nd life"? I lost the ring now since the character who found it immediatly died while putting it on and respawned as a ghost.

Rings of Polymorphing, when activated by non-shapechanger characters, explode with a "ruination" effect: 10d10 damage + permanent stat drain. So you will die if you are low on hps...
