PWMAngband 1.1.11 is out!

New PWMAngband 1.1.11 released!

This release mainly consists of porting the features from Angband 4.0 and tweaking a few things: "one-time" wilderness generation, improved barehanded attacks, browse/study/cast from the floor, turn-based mode (option), limited telepathy (option), more balanced Summoner class, and much more.

Files updated: binaries, source code.
Files are available for download at the usual location: http://powerwyrm.monsite-orange.fr.
Don't forget to update both clients and servers...

To play on a PWMAngband server or start your own server, download the binaries and unzip the files (client and server are both in the same zip file now). And enjoy!

Note: some basic entities have changed, so savefiles are incompatible again; please start a clean server instance with the new version.

Important note: all older files have been deleted from the usual download location (except a legacy 1.1.10 client); please upgrade to 1.1.11 if you're still running old servers.

Oh yes... when you connect to powerwyrm.monsite-orange.fr, use a "real" browser. The new theme from orange.fr is allergic to good old IE... Chrome and Firefox work fine.

Do you have a precompiled Windows Server available for download. It would save me the time of having to compile this on my Windows machine.

I haven't seen that other server come up and I am hoping to get a permanent server up running your code. How do I get a proper domain name to use with the Metaserver?

Downloads at http://powerwyrm.monsite-orange.fr are precompiled. Get the "binaries" and not the "source code". As I mentioned, the "PWMAngband" tab is only visible if you use Chrome or Firefox, it seems the orange.fr template is problematic with IE.

To be able to set up a server, you need a permanent domain. I use DNS Exit to generate powerwyrm.publicvm.com, it's free and works well... so get your own.

Ok...I have my dns...theinn.publicvm.com

I got my mangband server on the metaserver list.

When I put my PWMangband server up, it replaced the mangband server listing.

How do I run 2 servers from the same dns? I want to be able to run my Mangband and PWMangband servers at the same time. And eventually multiple varients.

If you want to run multiple servers, you need to declare multiple hosts on your domain. Then use one host per server.

If you have two different machines, I guess you need two domains.

Even with two domains going to the same IP address, the firewall will see Mangband and route everything to one computer. I need something server side to distinguish between the two...but I have no idea how to do it. HELP! PLEASE? 8)

One Drive is still down as of now. Its been down for about 48hrs now. 8(

I suppose I have the files on one Windows machine...I can always port them over. But I want to see the download links restored so my friends can download the client and play on my server.

EDIT: CHECKED this at 5:40pm CST...still down...

Links should be working again. If you're using Firefox, you probably want to flush the cache so that the page is reloaded.

Someone is a dumbass...

I hope you like PWMAngband 1.1.11 with monsters breathing at a random square next to the player instead of the player himself for 0 to half the normal damage. I just found out that I completely nuked the breathing code when implementing the cone-shaped breath branch from Vanilla... Fortunately I spotted the problem and I'll be able to fix that rapidly. Expect a new build tomorrow.
