Mac client won't save settings.

I used to play this years ago and am coming back to it :)

I've freshly installed a private server (on an Ubuntu box) and the Mac client on a latop running Mountain Lion. That went just fine. The problem is that I can't get the client to save any preferences (window location, macros, nothing). All of the files in Mangband/lib/User have a last modified date of 2009 no matter how many times I hit save in the macro panel. Is this a known bug? Am I doing it wrong?
