You feel faint as visions of a horrible death fill your mind
I remember getting the text "You feel faint as visions of a horrible death fill your mind!" as a level feeling for crazy levels.
Like if a level is special, and has monsters 25 dlevels out of depth, it would be nice to give the player warning.
Because a special level can be anywhere from a jelly pit, to a vault at 800' with a dreadlord inside.

You mean a hack that checks if dungeon lvl +1000 doesn't include all monster you should get a warning? Or something similar?

Yeah exactly. New players might get lulled into the feeling that all special levels below 1000' will be filled with orc pits or jelly pits. Then when they get one shotted by an Out of depth invisible thing, they get pissed. 1000' OOD seems fair to cause warning.

Well those surprises are making the game unpredictable :) I like it. Though I did not like it when my mage got crushed by omrax the eye tyrant in ´no time....

1-50 HP -> You die.
reanimation is possible, 50% EXP loss,
51-100 HP -> You die really fast.
reanimation is possible, 50% EXP loss, 1 random stat -1
101-300 HP -> You die instantly.
reanimation is possible, 55% EXP loss, 1 random stats -2, 1 random stats -1
301-600 HP -> You did not see it coming.
reanimation is possible, 60% EXP loss, all stats -2
601 or more -> You're body has been obliterated.
no reanimation possible
Maybe the damage type could also affect the messages ;)

PWMAngband already has flavor death messages. For example:
- normal death: killed
- melee death: eviscerated (claw), shred to pieces (bite), crushed to pulp (shatter)...
- missile death: shot to death
- breath death: vaporized
- spell death: annihilated
- and many more (bleeding, poison, traps...)
Death still gives the same result (ghost, 50% exp penalty)... but you get a small chance of perma-dying and losing some CON when you resurrect. The negative hp at death usually isn't that high anyway, except for people forgetting base resist at 6350ft ;)
